Vindaloo is a Portuguese-inspired Goan dish made with meat and spices and vinegar. Learn how to make chicken vindaloo in the traditional way using my simple recipe.


For Vindaloo Paste
▢10-12 whole red Kashmiri pepper (or any other dry pepper. Remove the stems.)
▢2 tablespoons whole coriander seeds
▢3-4 cloves
▢ 1 inch piece of cinnamon stick
▢2-3 green cardamoms
▢8-10 all black peppercorns
▢1 teaspoon cumin seeds
▢1 teaspoon mustard seeds
▢8-10 cloves of garlic (peeled)
▢ 1 inch ginger (chopped)
▢ 1 teaspoon white vinegar
▢1 and ½ teaspoons of tamarind paste

▢6 tablespoons vegetable oil
▢2 cups of chopped onion
▢2 kg 2 skinless chicken bones (cut into 1 and ½ inch pieces)
▢1 cup tomato puree (half cup tomato paste)
▢2 teaspoons of salt
▢ 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
▢½ spoonful of peeled white sugar
