- 14 oz. (400 g) half a can of 28 oz. (800 g) can be peeled tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion (1/2 onion)
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 10 fresh, chopped Italian basil leaves
- salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chopped Italian parsley for decoration
