After a group of doctors from the state demanded the withdrawal of a NEP position paper by a professor of NIMHANS on Health and Well-Being for being outdated and unscientific, the Institute of Veterinarians of Poultry Industry shot off a letter stating that eggs are highly beneficial so there must be a stop to spread of unscientific claims about it.

Institution of Veterinarians of Poultry Industry (IVPI), stated that the paper by Dr. John Vijay Sagar, Professor, and Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, NIMHANS is not based on any scientific evidence.

IVPI says eggs are a nutritional powerhouse, providing critical nutrients including protein, choline, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin B12, biotin (B7), pantothenic acid (B5), iodine, and selenium, that are valuable for supporting muscle and bone health, brain development and more.
