CHENNAI:- Poultry farms with more than 25,000 birds at a single location will now have to obtain consent to establish (CTE) and consent to operate (CTO) under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) said. Poultry farms having birds above 5,000 and less than 25,000 at a single location will have to obtain CTE and CTO from SPCB with effect from January 1, 2023.
